About Us

It is our great pleasure to instruct and assist in the growth and development of your child's basketball ability.  We want to have a positive impact on your son and daughter and help them in a variety of ways.  As a staff, we bring forth a wide range of knowledge, passion, and motivational techniques that will help them to develop as players and people. Stan Dohm

Stan Dohm is entering his 5th season as Head Boys Basketball coach at St James Academy.  This will be his 13th season overall as a head basketball coach.  During his first 10 years Coach Dohm’s teams have won 2 league championships, 1 sub-state championship, and also finished runner-up in sub-state on three different occasions.  As a player, Coach Dohm had a very accomplished prep career.  His senior campaign his team secured the first and only state basketball championship in school history.  As a junior, Coach Dohm broke the single season free throw percentage state record for a season.  He shot 94.7 % from the line.  The record still stands today. 

 

Coach Dohm also played 4 years of college basketball; his shooting prowess helped him to be named to two all-American teams while playing for Newman University in Wichita, Kansas.

Dan Ferguson

 

Dan Ferguson is in his 5th year as an assistant basketball coach at St. James Academy(SJA).  Prior to SJA, Ferguson was the head boys basketball coach at Medicine Lodge High School for 3 years.  While there, he lead the Indians to a 44-22 record and in 2008 took the Indians to the 3A state tournament.

 

Ferguson has been around the game of basketball his entire life as the son of a coach.  He was named an All CPL Selection as a senior at Medicine Lodge High School and also played one year of collegiate basketball at Pratt Community College (PCC).  Following PCC, Ferguson went on to the University of Kansas where he hung up his basketball shoes for track spikes.  While as a member of the Jayhawk track & field team, Ferguson was an All Big XII Steeplechaser and a Jayhawk letter winner in both track and cross country.
